Advancing Women’s Education in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Manufacturing and Design (STEM2D)
On 6 January, 2016, Janssen’s parent company, Johnson & Johnson, announced it has entered into 10 partnerships around the world to help increase the number of undergraduate women enrolling in and declaring majors in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Manufacturing and Design (STEM2D).
The partnerships are part of our company’s commitment to harness the power of diversity to improve the health and well-being of people around the world. The partnerships include agreements with nine leading academic centers around the world, including The University of Limerick, Caltech, Harvey Mudd College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA - Brazil), Rhode Island School of Design, Rutgers-New Brunswick Honors College, Spelman College and The University of Tokyo. There is also a partnership with the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) in the US.
As a part of Johnson & Johnson, Janssen will further develop its strategy to build a healthy and diverse workforce of the future through various efforts already underway in the areas of talent recruitment and retention, women-focused innovation and corporate and philanthropic partnerships that support the advancement of women.
