"There is so much more to be done; patients are waiting"
Dr Paul Janssen, Janssen Founder
At Janssen we’re committed to discovering new medicines and innovating new treatments to help those living with auto-immune diseases. More than 2 million patients worldwide have benefited from our treatments for diseases including:
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Ankylosing Spondylitis
- Psoriatic Arthritis
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis)
- Psoriasis
Our team continues to strive for innovation. We’re developing new biologic medicines while also targeting new areas of research.
We understand that treatment involves more than medication. Janssen is built on a Credo intent in delivering for doctors, nurses and patients. That’s what drives our commitment to developing and partnering on innovative programs delivering better outcomes for people living with complex auto-immune disease. These include:
Improving access to diagnosis, treatment and services
We support a range of regional initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes such as:
- Partnership with APLAR: Our desire to help patients extends beyond our own backyard. This is why we’re supporting the Asia-Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR) in their invaluable work in the Asia Pacific region. Within the Asia Pacific region, there is a serious unmet healthcare need in rheumatology care. Through a grant to APLAR, Janssen is helping to educate and upskill healthcare professionals in the region about rheumatic diseases.
Sharing advances and best practice in immunology
Our ability to treat a disease increases the more we know about it. It might sound obvious, but sharing the information is important too. Medical education programs Janssen provides, such as our Raising Expectations medical education series, bring local and international clinicians and researchers together to share the latest developments in immunology.
Delivering education, information and personalised care
We understand that it’s not just medication that helps patients feel better. So we provide a range of support programs and also information for patients.
Patients on REMICADE® can for example access a wealth of information via our Living Beyond IBD eLearning tool when having their infusions.
Working together to deliver better outcomes
Our partnership with key organisations and advocacy groups in New Zealand is an essential part of our commitment to patient care. With our combined efforts, Janssen and patient groups raise awareness to address gaps in health services. Our partners include Crohn’s & Colitis New Zealand.
