World Hepatitis Day
28 July marks World Hepatitis Day. World Hepatitis Day is coordinated by the World Hepatitis Alliance, of which Janssen is a supporter, and recognised by both the World Health Organization and the United Nations. This day serves as an opportunity for organisations around the world to influence real change in viral hepatitis disease prevention, testing and treatment.
Worldwide 400 million people are living with hepatitis B or C and 1.4 million people will die from viral hepatitis. Yet with better awareness and understanding, all of these deaths could be prevented, we can eliminate this disease and save 4,000 lives a day. This year the focus is on the theme of prevention, which encourages people to think about the need to improve awareness and education around the disease.
At Janssen we are committed to achieving a better future for those affected by viral hepatitis and we have a long history of research in hepatitis. Learn more about our thinking & research on HCV at the Janssen Health Policy Centre.
